Kells FC Portland Reclaims Over-30's Title |

The soggy pitch at Tualatin Hills Rec Center could not slow down a determined Kells FC Portland team from winning yet another Over 30's Championship. The cagey squad of Red Army veterans put up a good fight, but in the end, some tired legs and the firepower of Kells could not be matched. Kells got on the board in the 38th minute as Andy Trinh slotted a nice pass to Greg Phleger who knocked it home. Second goal was scored in the 43rd minute as former MSL winger Byron Alvarez was able to find the back of the net off an assist from Garret Marcum. Kells finished off the scoring in the second half as team captain Eric McClellan got on the board off an assist from Geno Bowman. Red Army continued to push the entire 90 minutes, but in the end, some tired legs gave way. The Kells GK Gabe Johnston had a great night in net to seal the deal. Congrats to both teams for a great season and kudos to the Spring 2010 OPSL Over 30's Champs, Kells FC Portland! |

Over 30's Semi-Final Results
Red Army 5-Kells FC Swoosh 4 (PK's)
In what turned out to be a highly entertainig game ended with Red Army pulling out a 5-4 victory as they held on to beat the Swoosh team in Penalty Kicks.
Both teams battled hard and it was certainly a battle of attrition as guys were spent after the two extra 15 minute Overtimes.
Kells FC Portland 1- Westside Lompoc 0
In another closely fought match, Kells FC Portland found the back of the net with about four minutes left in the match to advance on to the Championship game. Both teams battled hard to the final whistle.
