In a well-fought battle on the frozen PCC Rock Creek pitch Friday night between the two most decorated teams in OPSL history, IPS scored two goals in the second half, by Joaquim Capuia and Brett Gardner, to edge Swoosh 2-1 in the OPSL Open Division Fall Final. Twenty minutes into the game, Swoosh was dealt a blow when it lost a player who had earned two quick cautions. They made some adjustments that held their opponents for the first half, but the potent IPS offense broke through a strong Swoosh backline in the second half, netting twice. Swoosh made it interesting in the final 15 minutes when Jordan Crasilneck got one back for his side, and the crowd was treated to a final fireworks displays from end to end with both teams pushing to prove their superiority. When the final whistle blew, it was IPS hoisting the trophy for a record eighth time.
