Mission Statement The OPSL is dedicated to developing and promoting the highest level of amateur soccer as well as officiating in the region. Our History Portland's top amateur men's teams formed the OPSL in 1996, after concluding that the needs of high-level teams are unique and better served in an independent league. In the fall of 2006, the OPSL added the state's top 8 over-30s men's teams. In the spring of 2008 a women's division was added. A substantial portion of the players in the OPSL have competed at the collegiate level with several players having played in the professional ranks of Mexico, Germany, the MLS, the A-League, and in the US professional indoor soccer leagues. IPS has won the league title a record 8 times, followed by FC Swoosh 5 times, and Westside and Thirsty Lion once each. | OPSL Championship History | | Open League Champions | Over-30 League Champions | | Spring '10 Fall '09 | IPS/Marathon Taverna IPS/Marathon Taverna | Spring '10 Fall '09 | Kells FC Portland JH Kelly | | Fall '08-Spring '09 | FC Swoosh | Fall '08-Spring '08 | FC Kells | | Spring 2008 | IPS | Spring 2008 | FC Kells | | Fall 2007 | Thirsty Lion | Fall 2007 | JH Kelly | | 2006/07 | FC Swoosh | Spring 2007 | W.V.R.A | | 2005/06 | IPS | Fall 2006 | Kells | | 2004/05 | Westside Action | | | | 2003/04 | IPS | | | | 2002/03 | FC Swoosh | | | | 2001/02 | FC Swoosh | | | | 2000/01 | IPS | | | | 1999/00 | IPS | | | | 1998/99 | FC Swoosh | | | | 1997/98 | IPS | | | | 1996/97 | IPS | | | | | | | | | | | | |
